Often times I will not be able to embed films right onto the post. You will need to click the link above and go to the site the film is on. Rather than just look for the best films on YouTube or Google or Daily Motion which WordPress seems to promote I will just find links and post them if I have to comb the web looking for the best. That said, keep it in mind.
The above film is incredible. It has been show at AFI, SXSW and Sundance to name a few. Nicole Barnette is someone I know very little about but after seeing her film I hope to speak with her. This section is not for my reviews of a film. I will make a new Reviews section soon. I will tell you how “Fourteen” made me feel.
I felt as if I were watching a person have a dream and I was able to see that dream as it were happening but I was unable to fully see what that person was enjoying so much. This dream feels like it would be pleasant and terribly disturbing all at once. I felt so utterly removed from the dream and all I wanted was to feel what the dreamer was feeling. I wanted to feel that great sense of pleasure that is in this film. This in no way is a negative to the film. This film keeps me thinking and I will keep thinking about this for days. I may meditate on it in my daily meditation as I often do with Art and especially films that make me feel SOMETHING. Enjoy the film and let me know what you think.
